 Russian Cluster Observatory in Moscow, Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of creative and innovative development of territories.

Russian Cluster Observatory (RCO) is a leading consulting and research center. It conducts in-depth research on regional and industrial innovation issues through scientific research and appropriate analytical methods.  RCO interacts with state and local authorities, private and non-profit organizations in the field of cluster policy, program development and cluster development concepts.


Requirements

The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:
●      Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of Economics or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;
●      Candidates should have a strong background in researching R&D, technology and innovative development and infrastructure and/or creative industries and/or of cities and/or regions. The candidate must be able to work with databases and be proficient in econometric analysis tools and related software (R, Stata, SPSS, Python, SQL, Power Pivot).
●      Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required;
●      Relevant experience will be an asset although not required.


The position involves:
●      working under the direct supervision of Evgeniy Kutsenko, Director of the Russian Cluster Observatory, Member of the Board of Directors of TCI Network;
●      participants are encouraged to pursue their own research along with working on the research projects led by Russian Cluster Observatory:
o  HSE Global Cities Innovation Index (HSE GCII);
o  Atlas of creative industries in Russian cities;
o  Ranking of creative industries in Russian regions;
o  Research on creative clusters in Russian regions;
o  Evidence-based innovation policy (policy assessment);
o  Research on unicorn companies;
o  Innovative development of Russian regions.
●      writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Russian Cluster Observatory;
●      participation in the events of the Russian Cluster Observatory and other contribution to its development;
●      public presentations of candidate’s own research to the academic community;
●      some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

Conditions

Appointments are normally made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have an opportunity of renewal of the contract (no more than two times).
