About the Center for psychometrics and measurements in education

Set up in 2012, the Center for Psychometrics and Educational Measurement is engaged in multifaceted research, applied developments, advisory and professional networking in educational and psychological measurement and psychometrics. The Center for Psychometrics and Educational Measurement is a is a main studies middle in test development and psychometrics in Russia. It is involved in delivering a Masters’ programme Science of Learning and Assessment as well as a PhD programme in Education (track in Measurement and Evaluation in Education).

The Center is open for international cooperation, cooperates with leading foreign research centers and recognized experts from different countries of the world. Furthermore, there is a successful experience of involvement of international postdoc researchers and tenure-tracks researchers into Center’s investigations.

The Center’s expertise spans the following key areas:

·        educational and psychological measurement (measuring complex constructs, including 4C, AI-literacy, Digital literacy and Social&Emotional skills, developing testing tools for skills and academic progress; adaptive testing; computerized testing; processing and interpreting test results)

·        conducting multi-faceted research in the area of education measurement

·        advising various institutional stakeholders on educational assessment and monitoring issues.

Requirements

The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:

●      Candidates must hold a recent PhD degree in Measurements in Psychology and Education or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE University by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;

●      The candidate must have a strong track record of successfully doing research within the areas the Center is focusing on.

●      Knowledge of Russian is not required as research and other activities are conducted in English. Therefore, fluent English is obligatory.

The position involves:

●      working under the direct supervision of Dr. Ksenia Tarasova (director of the Center), Dr.Inna Antipkina (head of the Laboratory for modelling and assessment of competencies in higher education); Prof. Dr. Elena Kardanova (head of Methodological Center)

●      participants are encouraged to work on research projects of the Center along with pursuing their own research;

●      writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Center;

●      participation in the events of the Center and other contribution to the Center’s development;

●      public presentations of candidate’s own research to the academic community;

●      some teaching is encouraged, though not required;

●      place of work: Moscow, Russia.

Conditions

Appointments are made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have high opportunity of renewal of the contract (no more than two times) in case of outstanding performance.

HSE University offers postdoctoral fellows a competitive salary, the standard medical insurance plan, a working space equipped with a computer and free Internet access at the University.
