International Laboratory for Experimental and Behavioural Economics in Moscow, Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of Experimental/Behavioural Economics. Our laboratory is undergoing expansion, and we are currently looking for active researchers to join our group.

The laboratory has 26 shielded stations as well as a subject pool suitable for both offline and online experiments. At the university, there is a vibrant economics/finance research community with weekly seminars given by external speakers (online and offline) in addition to our internal seminar series.

Research funds for conference travel and experiments are provided to the researchers employed by the laboratory. Teaching is not obligatory, but teaching options might be available (for additional remuneration).

Appointed researchers are expected to publish in reputable academic journals. In addition to researchers with explicit expertise in experimental/behavioural economics/finance, we also welcome theorists with an interest in laboratory experiments.

Requirements

The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:

●      Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of Economics or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;

●       Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required.

The position involves:

●      working under the direct supervision of Dr Alexander Usvitskiy, the appointed head of the laboratory;

●      pursuing the candidates’ own research and/or working within the existing research directions of the laboratory:

o  Strategic decision-making (including theoretical modeling and experiments related to Industrial Organization)

o  Behavioral finance (including research on cryptocurrencies)

o  Artificial intelligence and cognition (including Neuroeconomics research)

●      participating in the events of the laboratory and other contributions to its development.

Conditions

Standard appointments are made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have high chances of renewal of the contract (no more than two times) in case of sufficient performance.

Outstanding candidates may be immediately appointed for up to 3 years (with non-limited renewals afterwards).

HSE University offers postdoctoral fellows a competitive salary, the standard medical insurance plan; a working space equipped with a computer and free Internet access at the University.
