Postdoctoral Fellow in Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis

International Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis in Moscow, Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of fundamental and applied research in data analysis of data with complex structure. The Laboratory is developing into a center for research and integration of the latest artificial intelligence methods with an emphasis on data mining, structural analysis, and Explainable AI.

Requirements
The general requirements for postdoctoral fellowship candidates are as follows:

• Candidates must have a recent PhD in mathematics, computer science, or a related field, obtained within the last 5 years or prior to joining HSE University in a relevant specialization from an internationally recognized university and assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to conduct research that could be published in leading peer-reviewed journals;
• Candidates must have significant expertise in the basic areas of discrete mathematics and mathematical statistics, the ability to work in a team, conduct research, and work within specific programs in one of the high-level programming languages ​​(Python, C#, C++), R, Haskell.
• Fluency in English is a prerequisite, as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required.
• Relevant experience will be an advantage, but is not required.

The position involves:

• working under the direct supervision of Prof. Sergei O. Kuznetsov;
• the participants are eexpected to be involved in the projects of International Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis participating in:

●       Fundamental and applied research in the field of data analysis, including complex structured data in textual, numeric, relational and structural forms);

●       Development of software tools for data analysis and machine learning;

●       Integration of the professional community in the field of data analysis and intelligent systems, facilitating the involvement of novice researchers;

●       Involvement of teachers, students and post-graduates of the National Research University Higher School of Economics in scientific work of the laboratory;

●       Adopting of research results of the laboratory in the educational process;

●       Preparation of new curricula and courses for "Applied Mathematics and Informatics" and "Data Science" majors at the NRU HSE.

• writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of Postdoctoral Fellow in Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis International Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis;
• participation in the events of the International Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis/Centre for Language and Semantic Technologies/ School of School of Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence and other contribution to the International Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis’s development;
• public presentations of candidate’s own research to the academic community; teaching is encouraged, though not required.

Conditions

Appointments are made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have high opportunity of renewal of the contract (no more than two times) in case of outstanding performance.

International Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis/Centre for Language and Semantic Technologies offers access to its databases and analytical software.
