The Condensed-Matter Physics Laboratory in Moscow, Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of condensed-matter physics.
Condensed-Matter Physics Laboratory was established in 2016 and conducts research in theoretical and experimental condensed-matter physics in close collaboration with researchers from such academic institutions as the Landau Institute for theoretical physics, Kapitza Institute for physical problems, Institute for solid-state physics, Institute of spectroscopy, Lebedev Physical Institute. Requirements
- Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of Physics which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;
- Established research record in condensed-matter physics;
- For experimentalists experience in the following areas is desirable: ARPES, nanofabrication, low and ultra-low temperatures, graphene, topological insulators, RF-measurements; contact us for more information;

- Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required;
- Relevant experience will be an asset although not required.

The position involves:
- joining one of the research groups in the laboratory
- the researcher is encouraged to pursue his/her own research in parallel with working on a research project of the Laboratory in the following areas:
o experimental low-temperature physics and nanophysics
o hydrodynamics and theory of turbulence
- writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals
- participation in organization of the events and other contributions to the lab’s development
- public presentations of candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and the broader academic community
- some teaching is encouraged, though not required.
Conditions
Appointments are made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have high opportunity of renewal of the contract (no more than two times) in case of outstanding performance.
HSE University offers postdoctoral fellows a competitive salary, the standard medical insurance plan; a working space equipped with a computer and free Internet access at the University.
