Postdoctoral Fellow in Educational Innovation and Trend Analysis

The Laboratory for Educational Innovation Research at the Institute of Education, National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of educational innovation studies, trend analysis, foresight methodologies, and computational modeling in education.

Requirements

The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:

• Candidates must hold a recent PhD in Education, Sociology, Computational Social Science, Data Science, Innovation Studies, or related areas, which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;
• Candidates should have a strong background in educational data analysis, sociology  of education, foresight or trend research, and computational or mixed-method approaches, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment;
• Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required;
• Relevant experience in international, comparative, or cross-cultural research will be an asset, although not required.

The position involves:

• working under the direct supervision of Dr. Diana Koroleva, PhD, Scientific Director of the Laboratory for Educational Innovation Research;
• participants are encouraged to pursue their own research along with working on the Laboratory’s research projects such as:

Detection and Interpretation of Educational Trends within the framework of the project “National Center for Socio-Economic and Scientific-Technical Forecasting” (STP)

• writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Laboratory;
• participation in the events of the Laboratory and contribution to its academic development;
• public presentations of the candidate’s own research to the academic community;
• some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

Conditions

Appointments are made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have a high opportunity of renewal of the contract (no more than two times) in case of outstanding performance.

The Laboratory offers access to its databases, analytical software, foresight tools, and cross-country educational data resources.
