The  Motor Control Group (MCG) in Moscow, Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience.

About the Lab:

The  Motor Control Group (MCG), part of the Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience, provides access to state-of-the-art facilities, including:

• Multichannel EEG systems (128-channel EEG BRAINAMP DC).
• TMS systems (MagPro X100) with neuronavigation.
• Transcranial Electrical Stimulation systems (Enobio Starstim, EMS Brainstim, DS5 Digitimer).
• Kinematic motion tracking systems (SMART-DX).
• Virtual reality setups.
• Access to MEG systems for advanced studies.

Requirements

• A recent PhD in neuroscience, psychology, medicine, physics, biology, applied mathematics, or a related field (awarded within the last five years or before starting work at HSE).
• Strong background in TMS, tDCS, motion tracking, or EEG/MEG recordings.
• Proficiency in data analysis and programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or R).
• Experience or interest in machine learning and computational neuroscience is an asset.
• High motivation to conduct high-quality research publishable in leading international journals.
• Fluency in English (knowledge of Russian is not required).

The Position Involves:

• Working under the supervision of Dr. Matteo Feurra (Associate Professor).
• Conducting research on topics related to motor control, motion tracking, and neuromodulation.
• Publishing in international peer-reviewed journals.
• Presenting personal research at academic conferences.
• Collaborating with team members and contributing to the development of the lab.
• Optional teaching opportunities for professional growth.

Appointments are made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have high opportunity of renewal of the contract (no more than two times) in case of outstanding performance.
