Institute for Agrarian Studies in Moscow (InAgRes), Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of agricultural economics and policy. Evaluation of agrarian policy, potential of agrifood trade in CIS, EAEU, SCO (The Shanghai Cooperation Organization), BRICS and the world, sustainable agriculture are among the possible research fields.

Requirements

The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:

• Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of agriculture economics/policy or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;
• Candidates should have a strong background in economics, econometrics and political economy, ability to conduct research, teach agrarian economics in the master’s programme, use modern econometric programmes, work in team.
• Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required; but apprecaited
• Relevant experience will be an asset although not required.

The position involves:
●      working under the direct supervision of Eugenia Serova, director of the InAgRes.
●      participants are encouraged to pursue their own research along with working on Institute for Agrarian Studies research projects such as:
        o  The Impact of Innovation on the Sustainable Development of Rural Areas: Possible Long-Term Scenarios
        o  Spatial Analysis as a key tool for managing rural development in the region: principles, methods, practical recommendations
        o  Critical innovative directions in the development of agriculture: Russia and the World 
        o  Estimation of food losses at the stage of agricultural production in the Russian Federation
        o  Challenges of the new rural development policy in Russia and factors affecting the life satisfaction of rural population
        o  Sustainable development of agriculture
●      writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of Institute for Agrarian Studies;
●      participation in the events of the Institute for Agrarian Studies and other contribution to the InAgRes development;
●      public presentations of candidate’s own research to the academic community;
●      some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

Conditions

Appointments are made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have high opportunity of renewal of the contract (no more than two times) in case of outstanding performance.

HSE University offers postdoctoral fellows a competitive salary, the standard medical insurance plan; a working space equipped with a computer and free Internet access at the University.

Institute for Agrarian Studies offers access to its databases and analytical software such as GAMS, Ruslana, SPARKS, RLMS etc.
