The Institute for Industrial and Market Studies at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of  economic  analysis of enforcement of civil and administrative legislation in Russia.

The goal of the project is to develop a model explaining the effects of administrative legislation enforcement in Russia using methods and models employed in modern law and economic literature. The proposed application of the developed theoretical framework will сover several fields of administrative legislation in Russia including technical regulations, antitrust legislation, sector-specific regulations(including retail trade and SOE procurement).  Russian team will include 3-4 people with extensive expertise in the enforcement of the above mentioned legal rules in Russia.

 The job involves:

• working under supervision of Prof. Avdasheva, deputy director of IIMS;
• participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in parallel with working on IIMS 's research projects in two broad areas, which can also be combined:
• participation in research project design, elaboration of analytical model explaining enforcement of administrative legislation in Russia
• analysis of enforcement rules and procedures in Russia in comparison with other jurisdictions in the world
• writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the researchers of the Institute
• some teaching as well as public presentations of the candidate’s own research are also encouraged
• participation in organization of the events and other contribution to the Institute’s development

Requirements: 

• a PhD from an international research university in economics or law & economics;
• ability to work in a team,
• fluent English
• knowledge of Russian is an asset, but is not required
• full-time on research with at least two presentations of the research during the year
• submission of at least one working paper to HSE working papers series
