International Laboratory for Socio-Cultural Research (Moscow). Postdoctoral research positions. Deadline: March 25, 2014

The Higher School of Economics International Laboratory for Socio-Cultural Research (ILSCR) in Moscow, Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of social psychology, cross-cultural psychology, and economic psychology.

The job involves:

• working under the supervision of Professor dr. Shalom H. Schwartz, scientific supervisor of the ILSCR, Seger Breugelmans and Nadezhda M. Lebedeva, heads of the ILSCR;
• participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in parallel with working on ILSCR 's research projects in two broad areas:

1. psychology of acculturation and cultural transmission;
2. socio-cultural factors of mutual adaptation of migrants and the host population;
3. socio-psychological consequences of economic and cultural change.

• writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Lab;
• some teaching as well as public presentations of candidate’s own research are also encouraged;
• participation in organization of the events (annual summer school is ILSCR, annual research seminar “Culture matters”, etc.) and other contribution to the Lab’s development.

The Lab offers access to its databases and analytical software, as well as mathematical modeling, software development and data processing support.

Requirements:

• a PhD in a relevant field;
• publications in English in international peer-reviewed journals (minimum 2);
• experience in data analysis using SPSS, AMOS and MPlus programs (CFA, SEM, multilevel modeling);
• basic sociological or psychological education (BA/MA/MSc) or topic of PhD research should be close to the topics mentioned above;
• ability to work in a team;
• fluent English;
• relevant experience is an asset although not required.
