Econometrics of Contracts

Postdoctoral research positions. Deadline: April 1, 2015

The Higher School of Economics, the Center for Institutional Studies (CInSt) invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the project “Institutions, behavior and outcomes”.

CInSt is focused on applied research in the institutional economics framework. It has access to different datasets on different sectors of Russian Economy. A number of unique datasets (e.g. dataset with detailed information on student’s characteristics and achievements, microlevel dataset on public auctions including bids etc.) created during previous research projects are available to work on. We are looking for postdoctoral fellow with the aim to participate in ongoing or possibly new research projects related to the econometrics of contracts.

The postdoctoral fellow is expected to pursue his/her research interests under the supervision of Maria Yudkevich, work in close collaboration with the center’s ongoing projects, and make no less than two presentations of the research before the affiliated center or laboratory, or a broader audience. Some teaching is also normally encouraged.

Required qualifications

We are looking for highly motivated and independently working researchers with interest in applied economic research. Applicants should have a strong theoretical and empirical background in econometrics and economics (a PhD degree in Economics or Econometrics from a recognized university). Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory.

HSE offers a competitive salary, health insurance, and research-related travel support. The appointment is normally made for one year starting September 2015 with the possibility of extension in some cases.
