Postdoctoral research positions. Deadline: April 1, 2016
The Higher School of Economics Institute for regional studies and urban planning in Moscow Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of urban planning, smart-cities development and new models of cities.
The job involves:
· working under the direct supervision of Director of the Institute, doctor of economical sciences Irina Ilina
· participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in parallel with working on Institute for regional studies and urban planning research projects in three broad areas:
a) approaches for sustainable investment and urban development of cities territory;
b) problems of the development of public infrastructure in post-Soviet countries;
c) metropolitan governance.
· writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Lab
· participation in organization of the events and other contribution to the Lab’s development
· public presentations of candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and the broader academic community
· some teaching is encouraged, though not required.
The Institute offers access to its databases and analytical software and organize meetings with experts and members of authorities in the field of research.
Requirements:
- a PhD from an international research university in such fields as: urban planning, smart-cities development and new models of cities
- a strong background urban studies, economic geography
- ability to work in a team,
- fluent English
- relevant experience is an asset although not required
