Postdoctoral research positions. Deadline: April 1, 2016

The Higher School of Economics Center for Sociocultural Research (International Laboratory for Sociocultural Research (ILSCR) in Moscow, Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the fields of social psychology, cross-cultural psychology, and economic psychology.


The job involves:
·        working under the direct supervision of of prof. Dr. John Berry and prof. Dr. Nadezhda M. Lebedeva, heads of ILSCR, and prof. Dr. Shalom H. Schwartz, academic supervisor of ILSCR
·        participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in parallel with working on ILSCR 's research projects in four broad areas:
o  psychology of acculturation and cultural transmission;
o  value and value transmission;
o  social cultural factors of mutual adaptation of migrants and the host population;
o  social psychological consequences of economic and cultural change.
·        writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Lab
·        participation in organization of the events and other contribution to the Lab’s development
·        public presentations of candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and the broader academic community
·        some teaching is encouraged, though not required.


The Lab offers access to its databases and analytical software (SPSS, Amos, MPlus).


-         a PhD from an international research university in such fields as: psychology and sociology;
-         publications in English in international peer-reviewed journals (minimum 2);
-         a strong background in research, and data analysis;
-         ability to work in a team;
-         fluent English.
