Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS)

The Higher School of Economics Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS) of the School of World Economy and International Affairs in Moscow, Russia, invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of International Relations.

The job involves:

-         working under the direct supervision of Dr., Prof. Sergei Karaganov, dean of the School of World Economy and International Affairs, as well as Dr. Timofei Bordachev, Director of CCEIS

-         participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in parallel with working on the CCEIS research projects in eight broad areas:

o  US Foreign Policy and Russia - US Relations

o  Strategic Stability and the role of Nuclear Weapons

o  Contemporary Europe and European integration issues

o  Russia in the Asia-Pacific integration

o  Great Power Relationships in XXI century

o  Eurasian integration and the EAEU in the "Broader Eurasia" context

o  The role of Asian states in the Russian border regions economy

o  Specifics of Russian research and technological cooperation with foreign states (defense and civil technologies).

-         writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the CCEIS employees

-         participation in organization of the events and other contribution to the CCEIS’s development

-         public presentations of candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and the broader academic community

-         some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

Requirements:

-         a PhD from an international research university in such fields as: International Relations, International Security, European Studies, American Studies

-         a strong background (publications on the topics indicated above in peer reviewed journals; think tank or research center experience would also be an advantage)

-         ability to work in a team,

-         fluent English

-         relevant experience is an asset although not required
