Multiscale modeling of complex molecular systems

The Higher School of Economics School of Applied Mathematics in Moscow Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of multiscale modeling of complex molecular systems (including ionic systems, polymer solutions, porous media, etc.) using the methods of modern statistical physics (field-theoretical methods, classical density functional theory, Monte-Carlo and Molecular dynamics simulations)

The job involves:

-  working under the supervision of Yury A. Budkov, Associate Professor of School of Applied Mathematics, PhD

-         participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in parallel with collaboration with him/her supervisor

-         writing research papers for international high-impact peer-reviewed journals (Q1 and Q2) in collaboration with the members of the Department

-         participation in organization of the events and other contribution to the Department’s development

-         public presentations of candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and the broader academic community

-         some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

Requirements:

-         a PhD from an international research university or degree of Candidate of science from Russian scientific organizations

-         a strong background in mathematics (especially in numerical methods) and physics (especially in statistical mechanics)

-         ability to work in a team

-         fluent English

-         relevant experience is an asset although not required
