School of World Economy

The Higher School of Economics, School of World Economy in Moscow, Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of world economy and international economics. As part of a research unit with a strong culture of collaboration, the postdoctoral fellow will be expected to spend about half of her/his time leading collaborative research projects of her or his own design and about half on working with the researchers of the School of World Economy.

 

The job involves:

- working under the direct supervision of Dr. Natalia Milovantseva or other research staff of the School;

- conducting research within five broad areas:

·        impact of digital transition on economic and environmental processes;

·        global economic governance;

·        international business;

·        international trade;

·        world finances;

- disseminating research findings through writing academic papers for top international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with scholars of the School of World Economy and oral public presentations;

- teaching is not required; though teaching opportunities will be available.

 

Requirements:

-         a Ph.D. before September 2018 in international development, economics, political science, public policy, or related discipline;

-         excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines;

-         a strong background in quantitative analysis of social science data using software packages such as STATA or similar;

-         a strong track record of publications appropriate for the candidate’s academic standing;

-         English language proficiency.
