Laboratory for Centre for Studies of Civil Society and the Nonprofit Sector

The Higher School of Economics Laboratory for Centre for Studies of Civil Society and the Nonprofit Sector in Moscow Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of civil society, third sector and post-Soviet studies.

The job involves:

• working under the direct supervision of director of Centre for Studies of Civil Society and the Nonprofit Sector Irina Mersianova
  
• participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in parallel with working on Centre for Studies of Civil Society and the Nonprofit Sector research projects in broad areas:

o  civil society;

o  civic engagement;

o  including volunteering; philanthropy;

o  third sector, nonprofit organisations;

o  government-nonprofit relationships, etc.

• writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Lab
• participation in organization of the events and other contribution to the Lab’s development
• public presentations of candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and the broader academic community
• write grants proposals
• some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

Requirements:

• a PhD from an international research university in such fields as: sociology, nonprofit sector studies, corporate social responsibility, social innovations, hybrid enterprises, civic engagement, volunteering, philanthropy, public management, government-nonprofit management, etc.
• ability to work in a team,
• fluent English
• relevant experience is an asset although not required
