Center for Institutional Studies (CInSt): Economic analysis public procurement


The Higher School of Economics 
Center for Institutional Studies (CInSt) in Moscow Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of economic analysis public procurement. In CInSt we are interested in theoretical and empirical/experimental approaches to research in public procurement. CInSt has access to procurement datasets in Russia which contain micro information on bids, prices and contractual details and information on regional characteristics.

 

 

General job requirements:

-      participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in parallel with working on CInSt’s research projects in any of the broad areas of public procurement:

o  Awarding Procedures and Efficiency,

o  Auction and Contract Design,

o  Corruption and Rent-seeking Activities,

o  SMEs Participation and Subcontracting,

o  Public Procurement and Social Aims.

-      successful candidates are expected to work under the supervision of Paola Valbonesi, Leading Research Fellow at the CInSt,

-      to write joint (with the members of the CInSt) research papers for international peer-reviewed journals,

-      to give presentations about the candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and to the broader academic community,

-      some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

 

 

Requirements:

-      We are looking for highly motivated researchers with interest in public procurement who are willing to join team work but are also able to work independently.

-      Applicants should have a strong theoretical or/and empirical background in economics (a PhD degree in Econometrics/Economics/Empirical Economics from a recognized university).

-      Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
